Medical Cyber-Physical Systems / Internet of Medical Things

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) represents complex systems of networked medical devices.  When the IoMT brings together monitoring devices, such as heart-rate monitors, and delivery devices, such as medication infusion pumps, the resulting Medical Cyber-Physical System (MCPS) has the potential to revolutionize medical care and diagnostics. By coordinating the operation of the system based on data supplied by monitoring devices, the IoMT and MCPS can provide more intelligent information to the caregiver, detect failures of individual devices, and in general improve patient safety and treatment effectiveness.
