Part-Time Software Engineer/Analyst
Description

The PRECISE Center is looking for a talented and motivated student to work as a software engineer and analyst on a project involving ground vehicles (cars and robots). The position involves running simulations and programming different types of operations using CarSim, a state of the art simulator software that predicts the performance of vehicles in response to drive controls in given environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the ongoing development of software architecture and specification;
  • Function within a team environment with limited supervision;
  • Share experience and knowledge with the team to problem solve;
  • Get involved in software testing;
  • Be actively involved in product documentation;
  • Research new technologies;
  • Other tasks and projects as may be assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
Good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
Proficiency in C++
Good knowledge in Control (e.g., Linear Systems)
Knowledge of CarSim and vehicles dynamics
Knowledge in Robotics, Sensing, and Perceptions
Knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating Systems)
