Alex Potter is a Principal and Senior Research Analyst at Piper Jaffray. He covers companies in the automotive and commercial vehicle supply chain, including vehicle manufacturers and component/technology suppliers. In particular, he focuses on disruptive technologies within these markets, including products related to telematics/infotainment, safety/automation, electrification, and increased fuel economy. Alex previously covered Chinese auto and truck companies listed in Hong Kong, and prior to joining Piper Jaffray in 2008, he worked as a Beijing-based consultant to the World Bank. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and holds degrees from St. Olaf College (B.A., Asian Studies) and the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management (Master of Business Administration). Potter was also a 2003 Fulbright Scholar at Peking University's College of Environmental Sciences.
